ONE YEAR ALREADY! WOW!!

hello ladies! wow its been a year already i still can't believe it!! This past year has been a ride for me thru growing my hair to having a baby!! Im excited that i have a little girl!! I can't wait to see how hair is going to be!! Curly im guessin like her Mama ;-p.....

I also moved down to Fl so thats is the sad part thru out this past year, but i do plan on moving back up to ATL i miss Yan so much and being apart is not what we are use to!!

Can't wait to reunite so we can post some pics of us together AGAIN!!!

HapppY Anniversary!!!!!!! 1 year Natural :)

Whew..... Welll we made it!! finally made it through 1 year of allll Natural Hair... Congrats are in Order! I would not say it was the easiest route for any one to take .... The Big Chop... smh I have my Pros and Cons..... I would say wait tell u are ready.. to be honest I thought I was ready for short hair... but I wasn't lol . I had chemical and Heat damaged hair so I had no choice... You have to do what you have to do. I retained alot of growth by DAILY COWASHING, SEALING MY ENDS WITH SHEA BUTTER., GENTLY DETANGLING WITH A WIDE TOOTH COMB AND DENMAN BRUSH. THATS ALL!! I SUPPORT K. I. S.S ( KEEP IT SIMPLE SISTER)

I currently just colored ( Professionally ,Ladies) my hair strawberry blonde.... I know I know.. but Color on naturally hair is wonderful. I deep treatment twice a week with Aubrey's Honeysickle Rose Moisturing Conditioner. I put on a plastic cap and sit under the dryer for about 30 minutes.. My hair is like butter... no breakage. I also did a Mild Protein treatment with

Yes... its been how long since we posted?? I know .. we are horrible.. on a lighter note .. I thought it would be only right to post on the Day Tan gives birth to a beautiful Baby Girl named Lyric .. Congrads 'Sis.

Im glad I substain the temptation.. to go back to the damaging effects I was all soo use too.

My hair has grown to a very exciting length...... Apl stretched.. shoulder length curly..

Experiment.. Tested and Approved... Cowashing everyday.. shea butter on my ends.. and Kinky Curly Custard for Control..... ........results in shoulder length hair curly ... in 10 months...

The best thing I ever did for my hair.. it is healthier and happier than ever.. Hopefully I can borrow my boyfriend's camera.. to show u soon.

Anyone doudting your decision.... don't... you won't regret it.. be patient and once you get some length your hair will hang and your curls will elongate.. Just give it some time.. you will be where you want in noo time.

Product Review Friday!!!! Brazilian Edition !!

Remember I told all of you that new product reviews and topics to come... welll... here is the beginning of the very long list of product reviews I have!!... I did some research on Brazilian products because they do have one of the largest population of woman of color and hair technology is excellent there.

Whenever I run into Brazilian women.. Their Curls are just Beautiful, Long and bouncy!! I have seen all textures.. from 2 C to 4 A.... flowing down their backs.. sooooo What do they use?

several internet searches and interviews.. I finally found .... Seda!!!! Kera force!! Made by the same company as SUNSILK ....When I finally picked up the product.. lol I was soo shocked at the brown girl with the long curly hair on the front..!! lOVES IT! I only picked up the deep conditioner and leave in. In Addition, there is a Sedal Line as well. They only sell that one in Dominican Republic :( but if you find it same product).

NOTE: All products are in Portuguese. Don't fear.. I did all the translation for you :)

My Review: Seda Keraforce Deep Condtioner.---- Like Butter lol.... Soo thick.. it just melts on to your hair.. * Detangles, Great Smell. and My hair felt like silk afterwards.. you can leave on for 20 mins for a deep treatment or three for a conditioner rinse. 5 stars!!!

Seda Kerafore Leave in Conditioner--- great stuff!! I noticed a instant difference in my curl pattern... much tighter.. it was a little odd.. but not a bad odd at all.. just more defined than usual. My hair dried crispy at first but once completely dried.... soft, separated, bouncy curls.

Cost: $4 .85 Each... All the same price

PRODUCT REVIEW : MIXED CHICKS

Tan and I went the the bronners brother hair show and ran into the the Mixed Chicks booth. We grabbed a couple of samples and some information. one thing that drew us .. were the prices whoa.... the whole set was 100 big ones!! .. so we skipped the products and jumped on the cute tshirts! We both bought these!!

Last Night, I finally decided to try the mixed chicks leave in conditoner ... and boy wow... MY CURLS BECAME SOOOOO TIGHT.. THAT IT LOOKED LIKE I CUT MY HAIR AGAIN LOL.. THEY WERE REALLY MOISTURIZED AND SMOOTH .. NO FRIZZ! ..

* update ... Remember the front of my hair was really wavy and not curly.... I cute the top a little and guess what... BIG CURLS... I guess the heat damage hair grew out finally.. you never know whats underneath all of that u know !! YOUR HAIR WILL SURPRISE YOU AS IT GROWS OUT!! - KEY ADVICE..

I LOVVVVVEEE THIS STUFF! buy it buy it! Its thick , creamy and moisturizing. My little big curls are soo shiny. major hold too ! I purchased my tube for 15 bones.. but they do have a small one... to try for ...3 bucks!!! Its a good steal !! I totally recommend this product!!

I Officially found my HAIR TWIN!

I know alot of you look at naturally curly .com and curly nikki and compare your hair type to others who may have longer hair. EVERYONE SHOULD FIND A HAIR TWIN. YOU JUST MIGHT FIND YOUR HOLY GRAIL HAIR PRODUCT.I have been on a search with someone with my hair type for the longest. It helps me range ( because I'm impatient) what my hair will look like in the matter of months. I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE! I looked far and wide and I found the wavy, curly hair very similar to mine. Hey Tan! It's Romney @CoarseDame from twitter! I finally had some time and really wanted to do this!!!



My story: I have had 2 traumatic hair losses in the past 4 years. Both were due to low maintenance with relaxers, I didn't have the money while I was in school to do them and the first mistake was letting someone do an out of the box relaxer my freshman year of college. I lost so much hair...I can't even explain it. I began wearing half wigs and braids until I finally went back home to my original hair dresser. She cut my hair wicked short, but it was for the best and had to be done. The second traumatic hair loss was nearly 2 years later, my hair had grown back I was doing relaxers in more a routing about once very 2 months, because financially that's all I could afford. Unfortunately after deciding to chop my hair down into a bob with bangs I had a hard time maintaining that and it began to fall off yet again! I was applying way too much heat on my hair and it broke off rather quickly. My hair was so uneven, I didn't know what to do! I finally saw the light and realized that this obviously was NOT for me anymore. At the time I was living in Chicago and I was able to locate someone (who is now a dear friend) that specializes in natural hair care and transitioning styles. Immediately we clicked and she cut off my damaged hair and put latchook weave in my hair. This was the beginning of my natural journey. I'm not sure if that was my BC but I surely think of it as one. I transitioned from Jan. 08 to May 09. I trimmed my relaxed hair in between and no longer have any left. I have been rockin my natural hair with pride since I've moved to Boston. I feel like a new me and I'm loving it. Recently I started a Meet Up group for naturals living in the Boston area and I also just launched my personal natural blog. I'm not really sure what the purpose of my blog is yet, I will be using it as an outlet for those who may have the same natural hair care questions as me! I just want to thank you for reading this, it means a lot to me.

You Have Nice Hair For a Dark Skin Girl!!!

..... I know the title is a bit much... but I have heard this from alot of people pertaining to my co-worker. I can't believe some people but here is my story. She has beautiful , waist length,fine spirals that compliment her chocolate skin. My coworker is very use to this but it disturbing that just because someones complexion can determine their hairtype. So many people stare at her and make comments such as "that must be a weave".." wow look at her".....I wonder ..
I wonder WOULD PEOPLE WHISPER OR MAKE SIDE COMMENTS OF DISBELIEF IF SHE WAS A FEW SHADES LIGHTER?

1) don't like the look 2) don't like long hair on my neck and its way past that when straightened with chi iron.

My go to staples are Shea Butter and a spray bottle with water/glycerin/suave condish.
