This July, CNN continues its investigation of the most challenging issues facing African-Americans with "Black in America 2." Soledad O'Brien reports on people who are using ground-breaking solutions to transform the black experience.
I am soo excited about this ladies.. They are doing a segment on The Black Hairstory....
They are also interviewing the famous Clifton Green who adopted a ethiopian girl and taught his self how to style and treat her hair. This should be very interesting. I hope you all tune in and tell me what you think.

I can't wait to watch!!!! I have a caucasian coworker who did the same. She adopted a beautiful little black girl and learned to cornrow her hair. She asked a few of us at work how to take care of her hair and she learned. The little girl's hair looks great (she even puts the little beads in her hair).

ReplyDeleteWhile I am not necessarily looking forward to this series (for I was not impressed with the last one), I do plan to watch it for I am curious to the stories and segments she plans to bring forth.
ReplyDeleteI can tell that SO did a little more homework this time and found other relevant subjects to the black experience to ACCURATELY represent the African decent experience in this country.

I've already got my DVR set to record this. The last special was interesting, to say the least. I wasn't pleased with everything, but I want to see how they are going to improve upon the last BIA special.

I saw this story in the AJC, and I was touched by it then, and so glad that it was featured on Black In America 2. She's an adorable little girl who is truly loved; it sparkles in her eyes.
