VITAMINS FOR HAIR GROWTH.....HMMM.... : )

What are characteristics of the best hair vitamins?

There are many hair supplements on the market making many claims, but the best hair vitamins will have several things in common. We have outlined a few of them below.

Look for the Niacin content
The best hair vitamins contain true niacin in a proper dose. True niacin increases blood flow to the surface of the skin. Don’t be fooled by Niacinamide. Niacinamide is not niacin. The proper amount of niacin is critical. Hair Formula 37 hair supplements use 35mgs of niacin per tablet.
By using this amount the niacin is “flush free.” Amounts of niacin over 100mgs can produce a “niacin flush” in the average person. This is extremely beneficial to the body, but isn’t necessary to increase the blood flow to the scalp. Hair Formula 37 uses niacin in a “flush free” amount in the correct dose to provide maximum blood flow to the scalp.

Look for amino acids in the ingredients of the best hair vitamins
There are many expensive hair supplements with 2mgs of one amino acid and 4mgs of another. Most of Hair Formula 37's amino acids measure in the 100’s of mgs. Four milligrams of any amino acid does little good.
A good amino acid to look for specifically is L-Cystine. It is a sulfur containing amino acid that helps build strength in the hair and helps many chemical services. Hair Formula 37 has 380mgs of this single amino acid in a daily dose of hair supplement vitamins.

Look for Biotin (200mcgs or more)
Biotin is very important for hair health. It is needed for healthy hair and skin, and may even prevent hair loss in some men. The best hair vitamins should have at least 200 mcgs+ in the daily dose. This is exactly what Hair Formula 37 hair supplements contain.

Look for Iron (4mgs)
One of the most common causes of hair loss in pre-menopausal women is not hormones, but a nutritional deficiency including depleted iron stores. Hair Formula 37 has a full 4mgs of iron to ensure proper iron is in the blood to facilitate hair growth.

Look for Choline and Insositol in a 4:1 ratio.
Hair Formula 37 has 1000mgs of choline to 250mgs of inositol. The body produces its own inositol so a 4:1 ratio is a perfect blend. Hair Formula 37 hair supplements use this ratio.
There are many other nutrients that should be in the best hair vitamins but the above is a good start. Before creating Hair Formula 37 hair supplements we researched many combinations of ingredients and arrived with a hair growth formula that is unrivaled in the hair care business.

True!

Vitamins (pills) shouldn't replace your regular intake of the normal vitamins and minerals that you receive from eating. However, they're great for those times when you need extra.

As you guys stated, I am sure taking vitamins would help. I guess it's just finding the right ones. A lot of the over the counter kind we buy have mix matched amounts of nutrients that don't get absored in our bodies because there are other things missing. A healty diet is sure to improve hair healthy hair growth in additon to helping skin and nails. Personally I've found the best overall body benefit with Prenatal vitimins but need to research it because I have heard that it packs too many supplements for a non-pregnant woman. Blessings!

I got this advice over at Nappturality and from some of my favorite YouTubers when I was considering transitioning. Several of them recommend over the counter pre-natal vitamins since they combine a lot of vitamins in one pill. Right now, I'm taking Biotin and a multivitamin for women. And I've seen some good results.

:) Thank you guys for the Comments!!

KELLY--yes vitamins can improve your hair and growth even if you are relaxed. Your body needs the norishment.

Right now I am taking a one a day Prenatal Vitamin. you can take prenatal vitamins before you get pregnant so no.. you won't over load on vitamins you don't need. Also, I'm taking 5mg of Biotin. Vitamin Shoppe Consultant told me this is a great amount to start seeing results in 3 months.

MSM is also a great vitamin. Its a natural sulfur and non toxic as well. It actually makes your hair growth cycle longer than normal.. but

Beware Ladies.. It may grow hair in other places .. too.. ( facial hair) .. so just stick to the Biotin .. as least I will.

Good Luck Ladies . Thank you for stopping by.

Thanks so much for the love on my blog. And this is really good info! It's funny that you found me today, because just yesterday b/c I was thinking about taking some supplements for my hair/skin/nail health - wasn't sure what I should be taking or what - but I guess you get what you need right when you need it. In doing my research I came across this set of multivitamin supplements from GNC called be-Beautiful - heard of it? It sounded interesting, might be something you want to check out.

BTW - love the concept of your blog! It's so nice to have a good friend taking this journey with you. I started my natural hair journey five and half years ago - started it with a friend too - it's been so long but I find that there's always more to learn...

Thanks for the various suggestions. Great research.

I'm thinking about taking Biotin.I already take MSM along with vit.C(my detox lady says the vitamin C helps your body absorb the MSM better). I haven't noticed hair growing in unusual places, but my fingernails are much stronger. I also use an MSM cream on my face & stretch marks(kids!) I get the capsules and cream from bodybuilding.com.They carry many of the same brands as Whole Foods, for about half the price!!!
